Blind???

Have you ever imagine yourself blind? I do. And I could not imagine I would I feel if I’ve lost my sight. Sometimes it’s better to deal with someone who are blind rather than to deal with someone you are able to see. The blindness will look at things from their heart. But those who are able to see will look at things by their eye without dealing with their heart. Heart never lie but eyes yes. That’s why it is better to deal with someone who are blind rather than someone who are able to see.

Mcbeath

Oh my God! What a bloody movie is this? I can’t bear to watch the scene. What a cruel scene was that??? I can’t believe if there are such people who are willing to kill people like that. But, whatever, I’ve got the message that, cruel will be pay with cruel.

Shakespeare wallah

Not bad. That is the words that I can say bout the movie. Even I failed to get the idea of it at the beginning, but at last I got it. It shows the life of the theatre people those days and shows how the young girl acts when they are in love. The girl tend to give everything when there are in love, but men, they are blind. They never seen how the girl love them. They’re not appreciating when we are around, but when we are gone…..

how people evaluate my presentation (micro teaching) :

I would like people to evaluate me in the same way as I do. From the small part till the biggest part. From the dress coat, voice projection, teaching methods, teaching materials and the exercises. I think, those are the important element to be evaluated in one’s presentation.

how do i evaluate one's presentation (micro teaching)

In evaluating one’s presentation (micro teaching); I will focus more on dress coat, voice projection, teaching methods, teaching materials and the exercises. In dress coat, I am going to look how one’s dress as a teacher. Even this is just a practicing exercise in class, but as a teacher to be, we are supposedly to dress up like a teacher. It more or less will give us the passion of being a teacher. Besides that, voice projection is also important. It is important for the students to get teacher’s message or order clearly. So that the students will never miss anything. Most of the students are likely to deny this problem. As a result they are failed to understand the lesson.
Teaching methods, teaching materials and exercises are also important to put at the first place. It is important to a teacher to make sure all the needed for the learning process are accomplished. The problems that accured by inappropriate preparation in those thing will disturb lesson processes.

The Four Ages of Man

He with body waged a fight,
But body won; it walks upright.

Then he struggled with he heart;
Innocence and peace depart.

Then he struggled with the mind;
His proud heart he left behind.

Now his wars on God begin;
At stroke of midnight God shall win.

4 vs 7?

4 – The Four Stages of Man by W.B Yeats.

W.B has come out with the idea of the four stages of man. In his poem, he said that there are four kind of man. One is the people who like to use their physical ability. They tend to use their physical in solving their problem. I hate this kind of people because they are tending to make the problem become seriously. Not all the problem will be solve physically. Sometimes the intelligent is better than that. Talking about mind, W.B Yeats also has stated that there are some people who are tend to use their mind, their intelligent in solving a problem in the third stanza. Oops! I’ve forgot to describe the second stanza… in the second stanza, the poet talk about the people who like to act according to their heart. Yeah… sometimes it’s good to have such a good instinct. I do believe in curtain way, we have to follow our heart. Some people said; when you don’t know how to make a decision, be quiet, and listen to your heart. What does it says and do believe in it. Yeah, I didn’t deny that sometimes it is true.

Last but not least, the poet also has stated that there are some people who still do believe in God. God is the almighty. No body can deny it. There is no human being that is able to be powerful as God. Like what has been said by W.B Yeats; at stoke of midnight God shall win.

7- seven stages of man by William Shakespeare

Different with W.B Yeats, William Shakespeare has come out with the idea of seven stages of man in his play entitled As You Like It. i like this dialogue when it begin with;

All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts,

In this dialogue it shows that we as a human are actually an actor of our own life. The world is like a stage and us as people who live are an actor of the huge world. The different is we are carrying our own character but the actor on the stage is carrying other’s character.

In this dialogue Jaques has stated that there are seven stages of man’s life. One is the infant. As a new born. And than, the will grow up and become the whining school boy, later on when they grow up there will be the lover. The lover, seems like the Shakespeare is talking about the teenager. To be a teenager I the most complicated moment. The teenagers tend to have the conflict to choose their character and personality.

Then, the fourth stage is to be a soldier. The stage where the man has reached the maturity and ready to sacrifice for their country.

Starting from the fifth and sixth stages is the moment where the man or human will regret or appreciate their past. People are tending to remember their past when the ages become old and they started to understand the meaning of life. And last, the seventh stages, is the moment where human or man are going to be in the second childishness. Why so? It is because the man will lost their ability, the power as they’ve been old. At this age, people are tending to lost their sensitivity. They need people to help them in their activities.

Which one I love most between this two? Em..well, both is good. So, I do agree with both.

The History of The Theatre

Greek Theatre, Roman Theatre and Medieval Theatre

During the second class, Dr Edwin had introduced us to the history of the theatre. Greek theatre had been originated by Aristotle (384-322 B.C). Sophocles was a greatest writer of tragedy. In his plays and those of the same genre, heroes and the ideals of life were depicted and glorified. Greek theatre in tragedy is easier to understand rather than Greek comedy. Besides Sophocles, Aeschylus and Euridipes also have become the tragedy play writers while Aristophanes had became the writer of the comedy plays.

Besides Greek theatre, there are also Roman Theatre and Medieval Theatre. Seneca had become the famous play writer for tragedy in Roman. Roman’s tragedy plays is very tragic. They use a lot of horror elements in their plays such as blood and kill act. While the Roman’s tragedy full of blood, the Roman’s comedy have a lot of emergence of Christianity.Difference with Greek’s and Roman’s theatre, Medieval theatre focus on the morality plays. The plays during Medieval’s era have a lot of messages to the audience.

From all those thing, I will sum up that every era of the theatre had brought the
difference impact to the world of theatre.

the elements/things that needed for a play

  1. actor/actress
  2. the text
  3. props
  4. costumes
  5. the stage
  6. the director

Those are the elements that needed to start a play. The first thing is the actor or the actress. If there is the texts but have no one to act, it is useless. The text will never contribute to a play. However, if there is the actor/actress without any text, it is also useless. Easy to say, they need each other.

Props, is also important to a play. Props include the background, stage setting, lighting, and audio. Without props, the play will be incomplete. Can you imagine how bored it is if the plays are done without any background, lighting and any audio that usually used to completed the plays?

Costumes are also important in a play. The costumes that used by the actor/actress seem to help the audience to get the idea of the background of the plays. As an example, if the play is about 18th century, the costumes they’ve use will help the audience to get the picture of the era. Instead, the costumes also may help the actor/actress to play their role efficiently.

The plays usually performed on the stage. The space of the stage is very important. The plays that use a lot of scene will use bigger space and more setup.

Lastly, how a play will be done if there is no director? The director is very important to conduct the plays.

I think there are a lot more things that needed to start a play, but I just can’t think about it anymore. He…..

the reflection during the 1st class

When I saw the word teaching the language of drama on my schedule, the first thought that cross my mind was; oh my God…. Am I going to put some ages on my face again? The wrinkle on my face? Swollen eyes? Oh, no… but, what can I do? I’m the one who decided to take the course (literature) before. Hem….life must go on… no matter how hard it is. But yet, hey! I’ve past halfway of it. If last semester I’m able to struggle for teaching the language of short stories, why not drama? So, lets face it. But I do agree drama is much, much, much harder. It is about theatre... Learn how to act, to perform, learn the history of the theatre, what is the equipment that we need for the theatre. Those entire things will bring me to headache. But no matter how hard it is, I do really enjoy for having class with Dr Edwin. I realize it is not easy to learn literature. In fact, nothing is easy in this wold. :)
